A boot on her fractured foot left our leader, Nadene, home. Packing the permits she had secured, I had the pleasure of escorting her gathering of fun folks on a wonderful walk in paradise. We had the trail completely to ourselves. When does THAT happen??
We learned about the 2006 mudflow which basically wiped out the trail. We learned what the blazes those blazes on the trees were. The rest of the time, we simply admired the beauty of the pristine wilderness. The vine maple around the lake added color and the briskly running streams added music. It was a perfect day.
Enjoying the day were Nancy Chambers, Susi Rose, Marie Flores, Roz Shirack, Jill Wilson, Dave McKenna and Mary Coleman, stand-in leader.
