This hike was a little shorter than planned due to the leader (Becky Hickox) deciding to do the loop in the opposite direction than usual--and missing the junction that leads to the trail that goes all the way around the perimeter. Chemeketans Patty Baskin, Emily Wieczorek, Dave McKenna, and guests Tracy White and Cathy McClaughry pretended not to mind. It was between seasons for birds, but we did see some including a black swan and quite a display of white pelicans. After the hike, most of us had lunch at the beautiful nearby Trees Restaurant in Sherwood.
