Seven of us had a lovely hike to Duffy Lake. The weather was cooperative although not quite warm enough to swim in this sweet lake. During lunch at the lake we met a ranger who asked for our permit. What?! Didn't realize this was one of the permitted hikes. The ranger was very kind and did not fine us for our lapse but urged us be sure we had permits for any future hikes in the Jefferson Wilderness. So the Duffy Seven Outlaws got off easy. Lesson Learned.
