About this event
I've done this coast range hike a number of times, but not in the last dozen years--will scout it and make sure it isn't closed (sometimes due to logging) beforehand. The payoff is a magnificent view of the coast (weather permitting) and often wildflowers once at the top. Sullivan lists it as 1500 feet gain, others say closer to 1000. Spoiler alert: it is possible to drive to the top, but that wouldn't be the Chemeketan way! Moderate pace. Call (503-393-3841) or email to register or ask questions.
