The 1.5-mile private trail along the Siletz River traverses an old-growth Sitka spruce forest. At the cabin Janell will have coffee and cookies from the wood stove. Bring a lunch. The trail can have muddy spots, so wear boots and long pants. To start the hike we'll rendezvous at 11am at the Shops at Salishan, on Highway 101 south of Lincoln City 2 miles. From there we'll caravan 4 miles to the trailhead. No advance signup is required and non-members are welcome -- just be sure to be at the rendezvous on time. There is no fee, but expect to sign the Chemeketans' usual liability waiver.
