Elly Collier was the only one crazy enough to sign up for this hike despite a dire weather forecast, and leader Becky Hickox was cabin crazy enough to not call it off. We drove through some serious snow to get to Silverton and started climbing the Olson Road stairs in near freezing temps amid big fluffy flakes. Before too long it turned into a light rain shower, and not long after that the precipitation stopped and the thermometer rose 10 degrees. We did the whole 90 minute walk, had hot drinks, and strolled back to our cars along Silver Creek feeling pretty happy (and a little smug).
