Hiking

Hiking is the most frequent activity of the Chemeketans and falls into two categories -- Mid-week Hikes and Weekend Hikes. Hikers usually meet in Salem in the morning, car-pool to the hike, and return to Salem in the afternoon or evening. Listings of current and future hikes which include the hike length, difficulty, driving distance to the hike, as well as the leader’s name and contact information can be found on the Event Calendar and in the monthly Bulletin.  For most hikes, interested individuals must contact the hike leader prior to the hike to discuss the suitability of the hike for them and to obtain the information on where and when to meet.
