Trip report for Chikamin Peak Sept 2-4
Author Last Post

Well done Gabe, Chris and team! Sounds like a great trip and a perfect climb for a leisurely pace. Gotta love when different maps show the peak in different locations :-)

Congrats to all; glad to hear the climb did proceed, and with great success!  Great pictures! As Bryon notes, witnessing the clouds roiling thru the passes is pretty impressive. I especially like the one looking west showing the Snoqualmie crest with the major summits (Snoqualmie, Thompson, Huckleberry) projecting above the clouds.

You kids also seem to have lucked out with good weather and in that the lower trail had been recently brushed out.  Makes the approach much more enjoyable. Lastly, a comment on Spectacle lake  -  it’s a great place to camp, though it, too, has a long approach either from Mineral Creek or Cooper lake/Pete lake. There are numerous places at which to camp; the drawback is that it’s not that convenient for climbing efforts – a bit farther from most objectives.

Great leads from Chris and Gabe. Hopefully, seeing pics such as these will foster interest in both Chikamin and the surrounding peaks in the future.

Great photos. I love those near the end of the clouds pushing through the pass like a glacier descending from a high snow field.

Beautiful area….and not crowded.

Bryon

Great pictures and write up.

Thanks for sharing and congratulations to all.

My mistake!
I was able to go into the "admin settings" and "file attachments" are now allowed.
