This is a mostly non technical climb up the west face of Shasta from Hidden Valley, although the slopes get up to 35+ degrees, a fall could prove painful. It’s also a great route to avoid the big crowds that are found on the Avalanche Gulch route.
With more than 7,200 feet of climbing and an awesome glissade back to camp, it provides a big mountain experience with some serious altitude.
