High Sierras - South Lake to North Lake Loop -- CANCELED

This spectacular 55-mile loop hike will take us into the heart of the Sierra Nevada, passing through both the iconic John Muir Wilderness and the Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park. Along the way, we will cross three high passes, meander through lush wildflower meadows, linger by pristine lakes and rushing streams–all the while enjoying endless vistas of rugged granite peaks. The loop begins at South Lake, ascends the stunning South Fork of Bishop Creek, climbs over Bishop Pass, descends into LeConte Canyon, ascends Muir Pass, then descends into the magnificent Evolution Basin. After lingering there for a couple of days, we will follow the South Fork of the San Joaquin River, then cross over Paiute pass to North Lake.
