Southern Utah Canyon Extravaganza

An extended exploration of southern Utah canyons, including day hikes in Bryce, Zion, Capitol Reef, and Escalante national parks and multi-day backpacks in remote slot canyons, including spectacular Paria Canyon and Coyote Gulch. The exact itinerary will depend on group interests and availability of an extra car for shuttles. The schedule will be flexible enough to allow for early departures if some participants cannot leave home for two full weeks.

Difficulty: Moderate to Hard (hiking through water, climbing over boulders, heat)

Driving distance: 16 hour drive one way or I can pick you up at the Grand Junction, CO airport on Sept. 4. Flights daily from Eugene and Portland.

Hiking distance: close to 100 miles, by the time we are done.

Elevation gain: generally moderate

Qualifying Activity: Yes
