This trail is near Mapleton in the central coast mountains. It follows charming Sweet Creek as it cascades down the hillside in over a dozen waterfalls, ending at the larger Sweet Creek Falls. Forest wildflowers line the trail. American Dippers claim territory every quarter mile along the creek and can be seen flying behind the waterfalls to their nests on the rock ledges. Part of the trail hangs from the side of the steep canyon wall as a “cat walk.” We will hike several sections of trail along Sweet Creek and Beaver Creek. Vaccination and booster required. Please bring a mask for carpooling.
