Yachats to Cape Perpetua

This hike starts in beautiful downtown Yachats on the Oregon Coast. We will hike about 2 miles south on the Oregon Coast Trail, then cross Hwy 101 and continue 3.2 miles up the north side of Cape Perpetua through coastal rainforest to the summit. We will have lunch in the CCC-built stone shelter at the western end of the summit. There we can enjoy the best ocean view on the Oregon Coast. When we return to Yachats we will stop for ice cream, or pie and coffee, or the best fish and chips this side of the pond, as the group wishes. Plan for a long day.

Bring binoculars for sightings of whales and seabirds. Good boots and hiking poles are recommended for the sometimes muddy, steep trail. Mask for carpooling, vaccinations, and booster required.
