The 2023 Annual Outing at Olympic National Park, Port Angeles, WA, is scheduled and preparations are underway.
Please press the "Register Now" button on the upper-right of this page if you wish to sign up. Forms and fees will be due by July 1, 2023. Applications will be accepted after July 1 if space is still available.
Important: In April 2023 the Outing Covid-19 policy was modified after monitoring CDC and Oregon Covid guidelines and careful consideration and vote by the Outing Committee:
All attendees must do one of the following:
1. Show that you are up to date on your Covid vaccines, including boosters. You must provide proof of vaccinations including the most recent updated bivalent booster to the Outing Registrar. Updated bivalent boosters are Pfizer-BioNTech/Cominarty or Moderna boosters administered since Sept. 1, 2022. Only one updated bivalent booster is required. (A second bivalent booster is recommended by the CDC for those who are over 65 or immunocompromised but is not required for the Outing.)

If you are unable to show proof of up-to-date vaccination, please provide proof of a negative Rapid Antigen Covid test taken onsite at the beginning of your week(s) at the Outing. If you plan to use the testing option, please include a note with your liability form when you mail it in or email the Outing Registrar at <Jean_Hutchinson@q.com> to be put on the testing list.
If you plan on attending, and are willing to meet these requirements, please register as soon as possible. This will allow preparations to proceed.
Anyone who already registered prior to May 1 will receive notification of this change and will be eligible for a full refund if they feel that they cannot attend the Outing due to this new policy. Please inform the Outing Treasurer, Susan DeLaune <treasurer-outing@chemeketans.org> if you wish to cancel your registration due to the change in Covid policy.
Testing process for those who do not provide up to date vaccination documentation: Please let the Outing Registrar know ahead of time if you plan to test. Please bring a Rapid Antigen test (available at pharmacies over the counter; may be covered by insurance) with you to the Outing. When you arrive at camp, proceed directly to the registration table, where you will be asked to test yourself for Covid using the test. Testing must occur before you set up your camping spot or interact with other campers. You may want to test yourself at home as well before making the drive, but you must test again when you reach the registration table. If your test is positive, you will be asked to leave (or not come to) the Outing site, and your Outing fee will be refunded. If you are staying two weeks, only one test is required.

A completed and submitted registration form (either printed or completed online), printed and submitted Liability and Assumption of Risk form, proof of up-to-date Covid vaccination (or notification to the Registrar that you plan to use the testing option) and full payment will reserve your space at the 2023 Outing.
Non-Members - In order to register for the Outing, non-members must first sign up for membership. They can start that process by clicking on Become a Member on the Chemeketans website. Members of groups associated with the Federation of Western Outdoor Clubs (FWOC) may sign up by printing and mailing registration and liability forms along with the same fee as members.
RV hookups - A limited number of RV camp spots with hookups are available, but campers will be charged an additional $15.00 per night for these - which is a discount from the campsite’s normal rate. That amount is payable at camp (not part of your registration fee). If you would like to reserve one of the RV spots, email Janet Adkins: janetadkins@gmail.com
Waiting Lists - If a week has filled, online registration will not be available for that week. Submit a paper registration to be placed on a waiting list, and you will be notified if space becomes available.
Partial Week Registration - Campers are expected to register and attend for full weeks. Partial week registration (1 to 3 days) is not encouraged but is acceptable if space is still available after July 1.
