Sitka Sedge

This is an easy 4 mile hike at Sitka Sedge State Natural Area north of Cape Kiwanda.  Hike along a dike built in the 20's with views of Sand Lake Estuary. The loop will include sandy slopes and woods. We will also explore the beach but avoid the snowy plover nesting areas. 

Difficulty: easy

Pace: moderate

Hiking Distance: 4 miles RT.

Elevation Gain: 80 feet.

Driving Distance: 124 miles RT.

HARD: Long, difficult, and strenuous

To reimburse drivers for vehicle operation costs, the suggested donation by passengers is $0.10 per mile per person to the driver.
