Buck Mountain -- Silver Falls State Park (CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN)
We will hike the Buck Mountain Trail to the junction of Catamount and Perimeter Trails, return the same way, and warm up at the nearby Big Leaf Coffeehouse & Grill. This is one of my favorite local hikes … a mossy old-growth forest right in our own backyard. Part of Silver Falls’ expansive backcountry, Buck Mountain is one of the less-traveled areas in the park, a quiet place inhabited by bears, mountain lions and other wildlife. Plan on muddy conditions. This hike is limited to 8 participants.
