Buck Mountain Trailhead to North Falls (cross-key)

This is a cross-key hike from the Howard Creek parking area to the north Falls parking lot via the Buck Mountain and Perimeter trails.  The trip features starts from both ends with a meet on the trail with a key exchange at the meet point.  Fun for all.  Both trails are part of the Silver Falls State Park trail system and are shown on the park trail map.  The total length of the hike is 9.4 miles with a total elevation gain of about 1200 feet.  The gain is nearly the same hiking each way.  This will be a moderate pace hike.

We will have lunch on the trail probably separately for each direction but I have gotten cell service on the trail sometimes and so it would be fun if we can coordinate a common lunch.  Please dress for a March hike and bring rain gear. The weather can change rapidly this time of year so be prepared. Please call the hike leader, Dave Carter at 503-383-8928 for meeting place and start time.
