Curlicue Hill Snowshoe

Curlicue Hill in the Parrish Lake Road area off of Hwy 22 should be an ideal outing for a relatively fit snowshoer looking for first-time or second-time success.  Weather permitting, we will have several views of Jeff, Jack, and the Sisters.  If you are a strong snowshoer and want to come along as a mentor, that is fine, but don't expect to be allowed to charge ahead of the group.  I have three sets of loaner snowshoes and several sets of ski poles to accommodate most people's heights.  Call ahead to reserve.   Afterwards, we plan to stop for a bite to eat at a local eatery.

Difficulty: Medium

Driving distance: 150 miles RT.

Hiking distance: 4 miles RT.

Elevation gain: 700 feet.

The trip leader is the event coordinator. The Trip Leader has the final say over who may participate in the event.

Due to the extra effort involved with wearing snowshoes and walking through snow, the ratings for snowshoe trips are different than hiking Trip Ratings:
EASY: Maximum 5 miles round trip, elevation gain less than 500 feet
MEDIUM: 5-7 miles round trip, 500-1000 feet elevation gain
HARD: Over 1000 feet elevation gain, over 7 miles round trip
