The trail begins with a one-mile long easy descent to Maude Creek, then ascends steadily through the forest and several large meadows, which hopefully will have lots of blooming wildflowers. There are great views at many points along the trail and from the summit of the old crater.

Hiking distance 8.6 miles RT.
Elevation gain 2200 feet.
