Pup Creek Falls

This beautiful section of the Clackamas River trail begins at the Indian Henry trailhead. It passes through the Clackamas Wilderness, by impressive old growth, past the river’s Narrows, over Cat Creek to three-tier Pup Creek Falls. Although the trailhead and falls elevations are similar, the trail has a lot of up and down (Mazamas show 1,300-foot elevation gain; Outdoorproject.com shows it as 2,000). If Pup Creek is too swift and deep to cross, we’ll use a large fallen log upstream. Limited to eight hikers.

Difficulty:  Moderately strenuous

Driving distance 150 miles RT.

Hiking distance 9 miles RT.

Elevation gain 2,000 feet.
