White River Snowshoe

This is a snowshoe that has spectacular views of Mount Hood that just keep getting better .  We will be facing Oregon's biggest peak squarely for almost the entire route with the added feature of White River, a glacial river. 

Difficulty: Easy-Medium

Driving distance: 175 miles RT

Hiking distance: 3.5 miles RT

Elevation gain: 700 feet 

Qualifying Activity: Yes

Pace: Moderate

Due to the extra effort involved with wearing snowshoes and walking through snow, the ratings for snowshoe trips are different than hiking Trip Ratings:
EASY: Maximum 5 miles round trip, elevation gain less than 500 feet
MEDIUM: 5-7 miles round trip, 500-1000 feet elevation gain
HARD: Over 1000 feet elevation gain, over 7 miles round trip
