New Destination COAST
Since snow is stopping us from going east to hike lets head west for an exploratory hike near Tierra del Mar on the Oregon Coast. We will explore two trails, the Clay Myers Trail at Whalen Island in the Clay Myers State Natural area and a nearby trail in the Sitka Sedge State Natural area. The first is a short tree lined loop with lots of side trails to explore while the second is all about the views of open, tidal flats, saltwater marshes and forested wet lands. The leaders guess is that we will do about 5 miles of hiking with options. Come get lost with the leader on new trails and help him find the way! Nearby Pacific City will have lots of post hike refreshment options to celebrate the day. Pre-register with the leader at dongall39@comcast.net.
