Cape Perpetua Hike

From the Cape Perpetua Interpretive Center south of Yachats we will first climb the switchbacks along the Saint Perpetua Trail up an elevation gain of 700 ft to the “Best View on the Oregon Coast” the stone shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the early 1930s. On a clear day from this point, you can view 70 miles of coastline and 37 miles out to sea on a clear day (and even look for the spouts of grey whales!).

After hiking back to the Interpretive Center we hike to the beach and the tide pools and along the Trail of the Restless Waters for a good view of Devils Churn, Cape Cove, Thor’s Well, and Spouting Horn. Pre-register with leader at dongall39@comcast.net.
