Crescent Mountain Hike
This is one of the great wildflower hikes in the old Cascades. Crescent Mountain may not have the variety of flowers found on Iron Mt., but it displays what it does have in massive profusion across broad sunny meadows. Hopefully this will be a good year for bear grass. We will lunch at the top of the 5,750-ft. summit, a high point on a huge crescent-shaped ridge. This is a former fire lookout site, which means good views of snowy Cascade peaks and Crescent Lake below. Bring plenty of water; the open meadows can get hot.
