About this event
I’m looking to do some backpacking trips on the Timberline Trail this summer and want to see if anyone in the club is interested in training this winter. Proposed dates: 1/11, 1/25, 2/8, 2/22. I will hike this series with a pack, but all are welcome (pack or no pack).
This first hike is Howard Creek Trailhead to 214 Trail to Smith Creek Trail to Buck Mountain Loop (south side) to Buck Mountain Loop (north side), return to Howard Creek Trailhead.
These are at-your-own risk events but obviously we will look out for everyone and leave no one behind. Carry 2-4 liters of water, winter layers, rain/snow gear, head lamp, map, first aid supplies, emergency shelter, lunch, snacks, directions to trailhead, sandals for fording creek (Jan. 25 and Feb. 22). Wilderness first aid trained and I carry a satellite communicator.
