August 11, 2018. Joanne Schiedler joined a three-generation hike today -- George Struble, his son Andy, and his granddaughter Lauren Yumibe (Andy's niece). A heartwarming experience. Compared to the weeks before and after, the day was fairly cool; we even put back on shirts or jackets while eating lunch. Lauren waded; none of us swam. We were saddened to hike through areas burned by recent forest fires, but the areas around the lakes themselves were untouched.
