Cascade Head - March 10
The originally scheduled Silver Falls Canyon Trail was closed because of ice, so our alternate was Cascade Head. It was glorious! Chilly to start, but the sun was out and we warmed up quickly as we climbed. There was some mud, but we could navigate and poles made it easier. It was good to start early because there were many groups of hikers coming up as we went down. Five of us enjoyed the day: Mary Coleman, Eileen Harder, Blanka Truneckova, leader Mary Liepins and (completing his second qualifier) Martin Doerfler.
