Lucky us. We didn’t go back to school on the day the rest of the Willamette Valley did but instead to Pamelia Lake and beyond. The weather was perfect and there was a hint of fall color. After reaching the lake, we circled around to the left and continued for another mile and a half or so, turning around at the Pamelia Creek crossing. If you have not done this section beyond the lake (no one had except for Bev), put it on your list; it is really beautiful, with cascades of water coming down the lush mountain side and routed through nicely-constructed channels and under bridges. Hikers were members Karen Craven, Robbie Earon, Martin Doerfler, Beverly Hassell, Becky Hickox, Pennii Norris, Rosanna Wilson, and leader Elizabeth Seibert.
