Middle Pyramid Hike - Sept. 11, 2019

After many blue summer days, a few cool rainy days preceded this particular hike making the air crisp and fresh. We labored uphill almost 2 miles to the junction towards North Pyramid and decided to explore that direction to see if we could find a route to the summit. Heading off-trail to a ridge that looked promising we found the way impassable and stopped for "first" lunch before retracing our steps and proceeding to the summit of Middle Pyramid for "second" lunch. The mountains on the horizon were lost in the clouds but mist swirled around the closer peaks making for a magical scene.
