The trivia question for the day was - What was the name of the saloon in Gunsmoke? Mary Coleman was able to pull the correct answer from deep within her brain. We enjoyed a mellow 5-mile hike along Shotgun Creek and up through a second growth forest with a few remaining monster Douglas-firs. There was a nice variety of weird and wonderful mushrooms, too. This hike is south of Brownsville, which is a little outside the regular stomping grounds of the Chemeketans. Our group included: Bobbie Snead, Mary Coleman, Nanci Chambers, Bev Hassell, Trish and Joe Rossitto, Lesley Johnson. Oh, yes, the Gunsmoke saloon was called the Long Branch. Kudos to those who were able to remember that!
