A glorious summer day made this uphill trek almost effortless, at least until the steep last half mile. We lingered on the top for an hour and enjoyed the view of the snowy Three Sisters and three Peregrine Falcons doing a fly-by. We were almost back to the car before we saw the only other hikers on the trail, a father and three boys. The A&W in Sweet Home lured us in for ice cream and French fries, a fine combination. Member-hikers were Elly Collier, Blanka Truneckova, Bruce Patterson, Rick Cooper and leader Elizabeth Seibert.
