A merry band of seven Chemeketans and one guest had a great walk on the Willamette River from John's Landing to Sellwood. Being true Oregonians we were thrilled to have a slightly foggy morning because, after an epic rainy week, we had nary a drop! There was still some Fall color and we were happy to get out. After coffee and coffee cake at the Adkins', we started south on the river trail along several marinas and floating home communities. We walked through Willamette Park, over the Sellwood Bridge, up through forested Sellwood Park (on the hill overlooking Oaks Bottom Nature Reserve), then down through Oaks Park, Sellwood Riverfrot Park and back for the rest of the coffee cake! Our crew included members Zsa Dubois, Ken Ash, Jean Hutchinson, Patty Baskin, Marie Scruggs, George Adkins; guest Shu Liang; and leader Janet Adkins.
