Finley NWR Cheadle Marsh and Pigeon Butte -- April 9, 2022

Leader Georgienne Young was joined by two other members, Susan Hoskins and Pam Ferrara, to travel south of Corvallis to hike around Cheadle Marsh and up to Pigeon Butte on a 3.5 loop trail. While we watched ominous black clouds pour rain on all visible points around us we luckily only experienced a few raindrops! We enjoyed mild weather, the birdlife, wildflowers and views of the green valley and surrounding hills from our lunch stop at the top of Pigeon Butte. The highlight was a meadow of Yellow Paintbrush in full bloom.
