This hike was moved from April 30th to May 1st because of weather. The flowers at CSRG were great but the numbers of waterfowl was probably less than 20% of what I am used to seeing. Normally this time of year I see about 5 broods of geese and even more broods of ducks, this year no goslings and only 3 broods of ducks, 2 wood duck ducklings and a brood each of mallards and widgeons.

Next on the list was to be Reed College Canyon, however talking to Campus Safety the week before, I was told the campus was open to the public. In actuality the Renn Faire was earlier than usual and the campus closed. We were still able to do the portion that is a wildlife refuge, which was nice and let us accumulate some mud to our footwear.

Lunch was at Laughing Planet on SE Woodstock. Their dinosaurs were apparently laid-off during this time of Covid. After that we had a pleasant walk through the Eastmoreland Neighborhood.
