Leader Becky Hickox enjoyed welcoming brand new members Rudy Torres and Sumon Montri to the first Chemeketan activity for each of them. It's not a requirement, but it seems like everyone who joins the club is interesting and amiable. We started out as three strangers, but found many points of connection despite our disparate origins (New York, Panama, Thailand). Who would have thought that as a young foreign exchange student, Sumon would have ended up in the tiny Pennsylvania town where Becky's grandparents were living? And Rudy was an exchange student also! Despite a little mud and rain, we ended up not too dirty, wet, or cold--all-in-all a really nice walk.
