After months of rainy and snowy forecasts, 8 brave Chemeks showed up to hike the Catamount trail in Silver Falls State Park. (Did you know that catamount means cougar?).
We could not have been happier with our day! Several times throughout the day, a comment of "what a great group!" was uttered. Even though the spring flowers could be named on one hand, the green of the moss and the majesty of the old growth forest had us all grinning.
Enjoying a rewarding 9 mile hike were: Marcia Kenagy, Dennis Frazer (first hike), Nadene LeCheminant, Dave Megrath (Trail Builder joining us today), Nanci Chambers, Bev Hassell and Nancy Tucek (first hike) and Mary Coleman, leader.
